JPJ
Could anybody provide advice about what other sources of financing to use when one receives the schulich scholarship? I understand that most med students use OSAP loans and LOCs for financing purposes, but I am wondering whether it would be necessary to get an LOC given that the schulich scholarship gives 20K. How much does OSAP typically provide if you have this scholarship( assuming negligible additional sources of financing)? Also, is it possible to get an LOC at the beginning of second year if you didn't get one at the start of your first year? Western projects annual med student costs at around 36K, so I am trying to see how to finance my budget. Any advice is highly appreciated.
Jamie
There is an OSAP estimator on the OSAP website and I think you still get around 10-11K with the Schulich Scholarship. You have to pay back $7000 and the rest is bursary
aRnonymous
How did you find out about the Schulich scholarship? I've heard people say it came with the acceptance package, but I never received one in the mail. When I called the school they told me that they actually don't mail anything out, only what was in the e-mail

If you are selected, you will receive email notification, and then snail mail to follow.
