Retaking a Summer Course

Recommended Posts

I admire your enthusiasm but I don't think that is the best use of your time. First of all the O-Chem part of the mcat is relatively small. Your time would likely be better spent studying for the test as a whole. Second you already have a 90, which is a 4.0 on the GPA scale. That is the higher possible value, so even a high 90+ couldn't help you in anyway - obviously in any case med schools would not consider both for credit. Imagine how easy it would be if they did to hit the GPA requirements - you just take the same courses over and over again.

I would recommend doing something else to boost your application.

I'm taking orgo right now, and I should get a 90, as long as I don't mess up the final. Is there any disadvantage to me taking it again in 2nd year? I won't have to go to any classes, just labs, and write the exams for an easy 90+. Plus, I'll be insanely ready for the MCAT. Will schools look down on/not count this course?

You are kidding, right?
