Masters and its effects post-interview

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have been trying to figure out if having a Master's degree helps you out post-interview. I see that having a Master's can help grant you interviews at a few universities, but does it actually work in your favor AFTERWARDS?

My undergrad GPA meets all cutoffs for med schools. I was wondering if doing a Masters will be beneficial for me..

Thanks

Well, unless the uni in question weights the interview at 100% (like Saskatchewan does for OOPs), then everything that helps you get an interview will favor you afterwards, no? If the school does weight the interview as 100%, then no, it won't. Either way, a Masters should help you get into med school, especially if the school's app has a section for entering publications and you have some to enter.
