hkmedbound
Useful or save my $ and print out my slides? What are your thoughts? I know schools like Ottawa have a large portion of their curriculum on-line and it is advantageous to have a laptop.
Laika
They're useful for surfing the web during brutally boring community health lectures. All of our notes are printed and distributed to us. There are a few resources you need a computer to use, but you certainly don't need to purchase a laptop for them.
KennethToronto
You don't technically need a laptop...given how there are some swanky computers in the MAA lounge and some ok ones in the DiscoveryCommons...but you'll appreciate the utility of a laptop for surfing interwebs during painful lectures as laika has said. drduiib
If you managed undergrad / grad school without one, you absolutely do not need one for UofT med school. You will never need to pull one out during seminars or PBL.
