question about the application

Recommended Posts

This is my first time applying and I was wondering what is part of the Queen's application besides the regular courses, MCAT, etc.

I scanned this forum & their website and didn't see any mention of an autobiographical sketch, essays or detailed list of ECs...

I looked at the selection process on their website and it just lists how there's a GPA cutoff, then MCAT, then the interview & references and applicants are then ranked based on those criteria

There's no writing component? ...this sounds too good to be true

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe there is a writing component when you get to the interview.

There was for me when I went last year at the interview. We were given a writing sample then (pen and paper). There was a discussion that next year there would be potentially a computer system available for the sample though.

Don't worry ... doctors have notoriously poor penmanship! Maybe it would count against you if your hand-writing was too good! ;)

To the person asking about the Queen's application process: There is no OMSAS biographical sketch, and there are no questions to answer on your OMSAS application page either. All you need to do is release your MCAT score (very simple) and do your grades (like for all OMSAS schools). Yes, at the interview they give you a piece of paper and a pen and ask you some totally non-medical question about yourself and you write for 15 min or something. So you know, my interview lasted 22ish minutes and I was accepted off the waitlist, so don't fret if yours is short. Hope that helps! peace.
