Jochi1543
I'm looking at the calendar for 09-10 and I'm a bit confused about our breaks outside of the Xmas/New Year's one. Looks like we have reading week off in Feb (starting on Family Day, the 15th, so I'm assuming it's all the way to the 22nd, which is a Monday), but in the fall, we just have the 10th and 11th off in the middle of the week for Remembrance Day. Or do we get the 12th and 13th (Thu and Fri) off as well? The calendar doesn't specify when classes start outside of the semester start dates. Can any current students comment on how it generally works, especially in the fall semester?
Icebox
Last year, we had one day off for Thanksgiving (Oct 13), and for November they're called Reading Days because you don't get the full week. So last year Monday and Tuesday (Nov 10 and 11) were off.

tearless
it's a bit difficult to explain or understand before you get there.. if you have morning DL then you will have some of the afternoon off; and vice versa.. DL assignments change every block.
jdai
The first year is more slack than undergrad. Hell it felt like taking a single course for the summer. Don't worry too much dude and enjoy it.

Wut?
It should still let you register. If not, just give the UGME a phone call.
jdai
wat ?! Yeah because there's pretty much no homework (DL research and a few annoying library assignments only) and you're only studying one topic at a time (no PCC doesn't count). If you are good at bull****ting, or are good at asking questions and occasionally saying something insightful, you don't even need to spend more than 15min doing your DL research. I personally slacked a whole block until 2 weeks before the exam. E.g. a 6 week block means 4 weeks of going to school then coming back home to watch TV/play games. Er... don't tell anyone in the faculty I said that.
