My first two years of undergrad were horrible, with a gpa of a 2.5

now I have 4 years left in my degree since am doing a double major and, have

some research under my belt I am wondering if i do quite decent in my last four years and do well on my mcat is there still a chance for me to get accepted at u of c.

All undergrad years are taken into account for GPA assessment.

Some things to consider:

-overall GPA increase trend might help

-are most of your bad marks in the suggested pre-reqs?

-best two years need to be 3.2 and over if you are an IP applicant; if they are only then will you get a full file review

-GPA counts for a lot pre-interview but excellent EC/refs/MCAT can help balance some of that weakness

Nobody can tell you how you'll do in the 'lottery' if you don't buy a ticket--AKA apply!

hoping when they do the gpa wait they will take into consideration that i am a double major so i hope that helps out and i am an IP so we shall see 4 years to go hopefully i can rip them apart thanks lost lamb

Do med schools really care if you are doing a double major or do they merely look at the GPA? There are so many UG programs to follow, I thought they made no differentiation regardless whether one is substantially harder than another. You may want to confirm your thoughts with the med school directly, whatever they tell you is gold, here you get only opinion or speculation.

What I understand is that any degree program is sufficient. I do not think they take into consideration if it was astrophysics vs fine arts vs single major versus 2 majors 2 minors, etc...

However, I do hear that it would be worthwhile to take as many/all the recommended prerequisites.

As always, for 100% clarification of university policies you should contact the admissions website and the admissions office.

well the reason why am doing the double major was cause my first two years were so ****ty that is buys me some time to increase my grades cause i was told by the u of c admissions that it is better to have two degrees than a masters cause in your Msc its not course, but if i do not get in after my double degrees i will end up doing the Msc than reapplying
