foregoneconclusion
Hey, just wondering if anyone from UWO has recent information about the 6 credit Biochem prerequisite for UBC. Not many people outside of biochem take a course outside of biochem 280A but I read a post in 2007 that said they may count cell bio? Does anyone know if that's still true? PCB
I personally took the third year Biochem courses but I'm pretty sure a friend of mine used cell bio as one of his biochem pre-reqs last year. I would send a message to the adcom via the "request information" link on your application to double check
foregoneconclusion
Looks like we're golden! "In previous application cycles, UBC MD Undergraduate Admissions has accepted the following courses from UWO as prerequisite equivalents for biochemistry: BIOC 2280 (previously 280) combined with one of (BIOL 2581, 2382) OR one of (BIOC 3381, 3382) If UWO BIOL 282B (Cell Biology) has been replaced by UWO BIOL 2382, then you should be ok with the courses you listed below. Please note that final authority regarding course equivalency rests with academic evaluators and is only available after your application has been submitted."
