bsm
Hello, Is there any good summary out there for how the different schools calculate GPA (other than going to each individual school's site)? Also, just to get me started...which schools only look at the best two years of undergrad marks? (I know UWO does)

(I know UWO does) Searching the threads, I think Ian Wong and Stellarray were in the process of making a premed wiki... I don't know and can't tell from the thread if they ever finished it though... But in any case, you really need to spend the time to research it because no one else has compiled it yet and every year some things change. I believe UWO and the University of Saskatchewan are the only two med schools that look at your BEST 2 years. - Queens and Dalhousie look at your LAST 2 years. - Ottawa looks and weighs your LAST 3 years. I think Calgary looks at your last 2 PRE-interview but they consider your cGPA POST-interview.

Alright, thanks for the info....looks like I'm going to check all those sites...but UWO, Queens, and Dalhousie are going to be my best shots Also, can someone interpret this from Dalhousie's website: Non maritime applicants must also achieve a minimum GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in each of the last two consecutive years of full time study. If you apply and have previously completed your degree then we will also consider your best 3 out of the 4 years of full time study. I guess the cutoff is 3.7 in the last two years, but they will consider best 3 years in terms of ranking?

LOL, last I heard that kid was in the process of running away to Vancouver on a one way plane ticket to be a bush paramedic.

It would appear that they are referring to two different situations, candidates who have not yet received a degree where they use a 3.7 cutoff for the last 2 years, and if you completed a 4 yr degree, in that case only, they will consider your best 3 years - presumably to determine if you have reached the same cutoff. That is how I read it anyways.
