research under employment or nonacademic secion

Recommended Posts

I just started filling out the application... i know i procrasinated.

I am just confused about which category research falls under... I get paid for my summer research job so at first i thought it is employment history but then for the nonacademic section, under diversity of experience, it listed research in the description. So I am not very sure where I should put it.

Can someone help???

THANKS

I think the fact that it was research trumps the fact that you were paid. Who cares if they reimbursed you? Research is research.

Hi,

I too, am in a similar situation. I will list it under the employment category, as it was a part of a paid program/post graduate program. However, I will list the research under one of the NAQ sections, as well. My feeling is that research is a significant NAQ which should be in one of the 5 categories, regardless if it is listed under the employment section.

Hope my explanation helps,

SK

I listed the same thing twice under both categories. I didn't change the wording so they would know that they are the same thing. I figured that I'll never find out how the adcom makes their decision, so I'll put it down twice and I'll let them figure out what to do with that. I'm guessing they didn't view it negatively because I was given an offer.
