Extracurricular/NAQ helpp

Recommended Posts

Hi =)

I have been searching through the forum and I've seen a lot of

my grades aren't that great but i have loads of EC and this and that..

which i am sooo jealous of.

I'm going into 2nd year pharmacology in UBC and my GPA is 84%

I've heard so many things about how you have to get AT LEAST 86 to be safe and loads of other crap but now I know that to get 25/25 for AQ you need 85% overall..

I think I can boost up my mark in 2nd year... even though I am taking more courses (t.t hopefully!!), get it into above 86 at least and then try hardddd in 3rd year too so I can keep up my mark.

My problem is that I lack EC and WH..

lack as in close to 0..

I mean I do some music like piano and flute

and some sports but nothing that's legit

I'm not in a team or a club or etc.

I did join some clubs in UBC but I didn't do much in it.

Now I have 2 school years and 2 summers left (maybe 3 if I end up doing co-op). I am thinking of applying for ENSERC for next summer and volunteering during school (maybe weekends?) or working..anything.

Any advice for me so that I could get at least a start in doing EC?

I know it sounds pathetic :o ...

And another thing

Is it hard to score As in pharmacology?

I heard that for majors like biochem your ave could drop from 10~20%

What do you enjoy? Like I've read a lot - do something that YOU enjoy and YOU will derive growth and learning from, not just something that pads your app. Of course this can be trial and error :)

It's tough to get into a lot of sports if you haven't had a base from you were young, but there are intramurals and beginner's leagues, which count for something.
