intouch
Hey everyone. I've indicated so far that I will be graduating in august of 2010, as I have two courses to mop up during summer session. However, its looking possible that I will be away doing some research next summer instead of summer school. My question is, what to do about my expected completion date. This doesn't affect anything to do with med (prereqs etc), but I'm wondering if I should play it safe, and switch it to dec 2010, indicating I will be considered a "3 years undergrad or no degree" student. Or if I should take my chances, and perhaps get admitted this year, with them expecting I will graduate at the end of the summer, but really enter med two courses short of my undergrad. I definitely do not want to be seen as lying to them, but I'd really not like to get myself classified as "no degree" if I can avoid it. Anyone have an thoughts or experience on this issue? ubc_earnestw
6 credits of distance ed. is not an option I'm assuming? There are some relatively easy distance ed. FNH courses if you're looking for random courses to fill up graduation requirements. I went to an info. session for UBC med admissions where we were able to ask AQ and NAQ admission any questions we had about the application process. One thing they stressed was that there is no preference given to whether or not a student has a degree or not. The only reason why students with degrees have a higher chance of entrance is simply because they are TYPICALLY older and have an entire year or two more experience than non-degree applicants. Hope that helps! Taking distance ed. would make things much easier though, so try to look into that and see what kind of courses would fulfill your graduation requirements. - Earnest
