isaiah4110
So who else is bummed about this section? I noticed that we have a 1200 character limit on our essay (or so it says in the step-by-step help section), but I tried typing more than that and it works. Anyone else have that problem? And does anyone know how much the rural training section (RRSS) is worth in the NAQ section? because I don't have lots of aboriginal/north/rural/remote experience... I want to know how much it's going to affect me. Thanks guys! Cheers
Cndngirl118
If you don't want to apply to the northern program and skip this portion...do they count that against you? Is the rural portion part of the NAQ? Thanks!
new member
from my understanding, it's not part of the NAQ!
isaiah4110
Really? But then don't we get assigned a RRSS score?
medisforme
sheesh people, check out the faq page of the undergrad medicine website. They specifically state that not filling out he rural suitability section does not count against you and has absolutely no bearing on your naq score. Your rural suitability score does not even come into play unless you are an accepted applicant who desired the nmp.

AndreaM
The rural section is not part of you NAQ. It is used only for assessing whether you are suitable for the NMP, so if you aren't interested in moving to Prince George then it doesn't matter. Personally, I live in PG and have no interest in moving, so the rural training section was very important to me. If I have to move I will, but I'd rather not.
