newbie_01
would it fit under publications?
Hubert Cumberdale
I would put it here "Opinion pieces, newspaper articles and case reports"
AndreaM
I would question putting it in at all. Anyone can write a letter to the editor and unless it was in something like the Globe and Mail I don't think it would count for anything. If you do put it in then maybe in the diversity of experiences section. I think for publications they are looking for scholarly journal type publications. Yeah...only include actual articles--not letters to the editor.
leviathan
Anything in the newspaper can go under publications. "Opinion pieces" would fit for that in my opinion.
djmackj
a bit too weak to be filed under publications imo
intouch
re: laviathan I think in this context, "opinion pieces" are those that are written in the op-ed section by writers, journalists, or invited contributors expressing their feelings on a particular topic. A letter to the editor isn't REALLY an opinion piece, though they are found in the same section in the newspaper. re: OP I would not include it. If you wrote TONS to the paper, I'd MAYBE put it in diversity, but again, its one of those things that anyone can do, and takes little effort. If you were an op-ed writer or journalist with a regular in a paper, you'd have hundreds of articles to submit and would make more sense to just put it under your work experience... soggybread
I personally don't think it fits anywhere. Like others have said before me, it requires minimal effort. Not to mention that it's also a local newspaper, where any joe schmoe could have sent in a letter.
