amy_butterfly
Hey guys, One of the requirements of UWO Medicine is that students should register for their courses in such way that more than half of the course load corresponds to the "year" of study - e.g. in third year, at least 3 out of 5 courses should be at the third year level or above. However, my question is that is it okay to have a combination of 3rd and 4th year courses in the final 4th year? I am interested in taking some third year level courses in my final year, and so I was just a bit concerned as to whether this will be an issue when I am applying to UWO. Anyone know how strictly this rule is enforced? Thanks y'all for your help!

Yes, or at least in the past their upper year course requirement allows for a mix of 3rd and 4th year courses to make up the 3.0/5.0. In an e-mail I received from them two years ago inquiring for myself, they explained that not all programs have enough 4th year courses to make taking 3.0 in one year possible. Also, sometimes with double majors and minor requirements you can e-mail them saying that you had to restructure your schedule in order to get all of your degree requirements and they may let you off the hook.
