sid007
Hi, I am new to the forum. I wanted to ask what Mcgill considers a full course load when they say in their website, students are only eligible who do a full course load without any summer classes or intersessions. the regular course load for a health science cegep student is 7 7 6 6 . unfortunately i had to drop a course right now (im in my first sem at Vanier). the reason was because i wanted to get put in fr 100 and when that finally happened there were no fr 100 courses that werent conflictin with my schedule. The main problem came when i went to talk to academic advising said that in order for mcgill to even consider me in their med-p program, i HAVE TO DO 7 7 6 6.... but when i went back another person in the department told me it doesnt matter if i do 6 7 7 6, as long as i finish all 26 classes in 2 years without taking any summer or intersessions classes. so i dont know who to believe. anyone knows for sure that i had to do 7 7 6 6 or i can do 6 7 7 6? thanks for your reply sid

Guest Shim
It's sure worrying to have two different answers. I wrote to McGill about a similar subject, and they told me they did not care at all about the general courses (French, English, philosophy, etc.), but that you had to have taken all scientific courses as a normal Science student in 4 semesters (or 6 if you're taking a double-DCS). However, they would allow somebody removing a science course only if he takes another science course instead, and in the same semester. Obviously, you still have to get your DCS. If you want to be sure, call them, but they should confirm what I wrote above.
