RoyalFlush
Think any of the school's verbal cut-offs will surpass 10 in the next few years? My friend had called in a month or so ago, and they said they understand there is a large fluctuation in verbal, especially with science students, and they understand for that section, they have to give some leeway. Still though, with the rapid increase of credentials, think verbal will hit 11 within the next few years? Or will the sciences perhaps go up, but verbal stable at 10 for at least a few years (we all know in the future, without a dramatic increase in spots, and with the rapidly increasing number of applicants, everything is sure to continue going up). HBP
An 11 in VR drops the number of interviews drastically. Expect an increase in GPA + other sections before VR increasing. Just my opinion of course.
AdamP
lol in two years the entire test is going to be different, doubt verbal will even exist as it does now.
Rayven
In the far far future, they'll have genetic testing to determine your aptitude for medicine.. along with everything else.

Umm... the mcat has tested reading comprehension and VR specifically for many years, what makes you think they're going to change it?

Rayven
Seriously though... doctors are just human too. It looks like they're trying to build super soldiers. =/ Not only will you have to master your undergrad GPA, your ECs, your work, your pre-req sciences, essay writing, verbal... now there's some stuff on cultural.. what? Oh god. -.-
mattg
MR5 http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/mr5/start.htm In what way does that vague article tell you that verbal is going to drastically change? It seems to me they are just going to add something to the MCAT to evaluate the students' culutural competency... perhaps cater the verbal more towards this? or the essay? perhaps add an opinion paper section (similar to what i believe queen's has at the interview)... who knows... i doubt the test will change drastically though... it is a basic medical science aptitude test, and in my opinion, a seemingly sufficient one
Rayven
I actually think the verbal and writing sample section might expand because of the suggested introduction of cultural and social science material.
