spiderpig
I was wondering if anyone else has/had the same problem as me. I've worked part time at a fast-food restaurant and at a retail clothing store in the past. I has been several years since then, but it's important for me to include them because they required a lot of time management. However, the management at these type of stores is always changing, and so, there is no one there anymore that I used to work with. I also have not kept in touch with any of my old co-workers. Could it be okay to put myself down as a verifier, and if asked, provide old copies of my pay stubs to prove I worked there? (I'm also trying to locate my record of employment, but I'm not sure if it'll contain hours/week etc.)
HBP
Do the best you can. That's all that is expected. Verifiers for the Autobiographical Sketch and Essay: The University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine expects that applicants make a reasonable effort to provide verifiers for most activities. It is understood that some verifiers may no longer be with an organization or that you may be out of touch with individuals who participated in activities from several years ago. Do your best, and use common sense. For example, it is not necessary to verify that you went to high school, since your university will have assessed this when you were admitted to your degree program. I personally would not put myself down as a verifier for anything, but i have send "documentation available" on many occasions. Whatever company you worked for should have some central HR dept tht you could call. I've had to do this on one occasion and got a verifier tht way. By law there needs to be a record somewhere.
