med_eng
Hi everyone I have some simple questions about the 'Activities' section of the UofC application. 1) Today when I tried entering an activity, I couldn't figure out how to enter the start/end date of an activity, or the hours and total hours. When entering the activity there was no prompt for those details, but after entering the activity, the activity appears with those fields blank. What should I do? 2) How should the activities be listed in the application? Should they be in chronological order, or grouped according to 'activity type'. Or will the application put it in the right order for you? Thanks in advance.

LostLamb
Will no one answer my questions? it is a new system and nobody on here has submitted yet...hence no reply on the ordering of the activities. I don't really understand your problem regarding the activities. Call the office, they will help you!!
med_eng
Thanks LostLamb for your help. My problem is that i cannot enter a start date or end date for my activities. When i'm entering in my activity, there is nowhere that will allow me to do this. Am I missing something? Do you think it's my browser? I'm using explorer which is pretty standard. Any help is appreciated!
LostLamb
As soon as you choose activity type in the drop down menu, it should bring up a start and end date box. A click on the box brings up a calendar on which you can enter the date. If you don't see the calendar or the box at all...or are missing the drop down menu, then you're in trouble. Contact April to sort it out. Good luck!
Corsci
is there any point in putting Dean's List as an award? or is it just evident from your marks?
yeeha
Similar problem here. When I select the "Awards" activity type, there is no field to put the date (start or end). When I select a different type of activity, the menu changes and it allows me to pick dates with the calendar tool.... is this normal? I have been putting the date into the "duties" section

AG22
Hey, how are you guys inputting things like an Ontario Scholars Award? Who would verify something like that? Any ideas? And yeah, I put my Dean's list on there (to one of the posters above).

If any one else is in the same boat as me, wrt listing an Ont Scholar's award, they've told me to simply list my scholarships/awards and use myself as a verifier. If they have questions, they will contact me. "For awards & scholarships you can put the institution information in or your contact information and if we have questions we can contact you. For inputting the award, did the menu have an area to input dates, like the other activities section, or did you put it in the duties section? Yes, because there was no area for the dates, I put it under the duties section. GL

I did for some in the duties section. Are you guys mentioning really common/old ones like Alexander Rutherford Scholarship?
Corsci
I may have mentioned rutherford at some point but no actual award on it. Most of my tuition is covered by awards... which I suppose is an accomplishment. I'm trying to think of a way that it could be looked at negatively but can't... so maybe i will put the amounts in. I guess i don't want to seem spoiled even though i did have to earn the awards.
