Okay GPA and not from rural area

Recommended Posts

At NOSM there are three major things they look at pre-interview:

1) GPA, 2) Sketch and Questions 3) Context: rural, Northern, Francophone, Aboriginal peoples, etc. If you lack strength in one of these areas, then the other two must really be good. However, in your circumstance it seems you are limited in two of the three areas. That being said, your chances are always zero if you dont apply at all.

Hi,

I'm from Toronto. My cumulative GPA is 3.5. The only experience I have in a rural community is a month in the North. Do I have any chances?

Thanks.

My GPA is higher than yours, I am from a rural area north of Thunder Bay and was working there when I was interviewed. I managed to get in this year after three tries so to be blunt you have no chance. NOSM's mandate is rural, Northern, Francophone, Aboriginal etc. Why would you waste your time?
