itimebomb2
Does anyone know Dal's weighting formula for interviews and post-interview? I'm applying with a fairly strong academic combo - 3.87, 3.96, 3.88 = 3.91 cGPA and a 10/12/12/S = 34S. But I'm wondering how the non-academic stuff weighs in. Thanks in advance
w8kg6
It weighs in big time, especially post interview. In the post interview score breakdown, academics (GPA and MCAT) only count for 25% of the decision. Look around the site for the total breakdown. I'm pretty sure that the interview is 45%, and 5% is reserved as bonus points for super high WS scores and graduate degrees. Also, Dal will only look at your most recent 2 years for your GPA. w8kg6
yeah, a few points are reserved for things like working 25 or more hours each week while in school, and I think varsity athletics as well... but I'm not 100% sure on the latter. doc2B
The weighting is: 15 GPA 10 MCAT 5 Discretionary points 40 MMI (interview) 10 Essay 20 Supplemental (5 each: Interests; medically related experience; volunteer work; jobs)
oldtrout
What about reference letters? Any points based on those?
xi88
What about reference letters? Any points based on those? they are just flags. A superb reference letter will mean the exact same as a mediocre one, nothing. However, if you have a crappy reference letter, thats really really bad. I take it this means they are included in the discretionary points?

Others are working while in school (25+ hours per week), master's/phd degree, R S or T on the MCAT Writing Sample, and maybe something to do with varsity athletics (but I'm not 100% sure on that last one).
