med1988
I am currently in a Masters programme and am considering an MD PHD program after graduation in the US. Has anybody on this forum been interviewed/ accepted into this stream? Is early application as important for this stream? Please share any interview experience/ application advice that you have! Thanks!
mig174
I looked into applying this year. As far as I found, there are few programs that fund Canadians (Harvard, Columbia, Wash U STL, Yale, Cornell + couple I'm missing off the top of my head). It is advisable to apply early - some schools specifically encourage that, like Cornell, which have interviews on in late October and early November. med1988
This is different from what I heard elsewhere; e.g. all Canadians can apply to PhD and that it is fully funded. Are you 100% sure about the fact that only a few fund Canadians in MD-PHD?
mig174
Yes, the MSTP program is NIH-funded and most universities only accept US permanent residents or citizens. Some accept you if you have done one year of science in the states. Few accept internationals. Just PhD is funded, of course.
