holy crap you geeks, what the heck did you guys do all through highschool?!

High school was mediocre in that department - then again, maybe a different experience for guys....thinking back to being a teen, last thing I wanted to do is get involved with a guy my age. Freshman year is where it's at....especially if you live on campus. Then it's a done deal.

and you know what always bugs me? why are girls expected to be virtuous and chaste while guys need sex almost as a rite of passage?

Same reason why the "pro-life" movement also opposes stuff like the morning after pill, birth control pills in general, and so on. These people can't stand the idea of women being able to have sex without consequences. So it's either they want them to become pregnant and therefore taken off the market (inshallah) or they want them to be viewed as pariahs for their sexual proclivities.

Either way, it's bull**** hypocrisy and a relic of a time where misogyny was the norm.

Men - want sex all the time, and are not picky

Women - less desirous of sex on average, and much much pickier

We pretend that both have equal drives (and in a relationship that might be true), but the equal drive theory is complete hogwash. Dudes ENJOY strip clubs, there are millions of disgusting rub and tuggies everywhere, and not to mention escorts. Even really good looking men go to these places. Honestly, would an attractive women EVER hire a man for her needs?? Never. And it's biological.

With 1:1 ratio, and more women being university educated than men these days, it makes the dynamic of super picky women very funny actually. In the long run, girls that make bad dating decisions when young and super attractive, pay a harsh price when they become older and realize the dating pool is not as favourable as it looked in clubs (ie when they turn 24 or 25).

If a young woman has not had sex as a pre-med, it was her choice. If a man has not, either he is hyper religious or (most likely) he has zero game and women would not touch him with a 10 foot pole. And that probably describes 50%+ of all premed men.

P.S. Medical school by itself WILL not attract more women. Some guys honestly think that, and try to boast about it. Those that do improve, only do because they are more mature/older anyways. A couple of years in, and they will realize women do not care about meds as much as they think. Someone in film, art, music is WAY MORE ATTRACTIVE TO MOST WOMEN, Women LOVE jerks though (not overt jerks - but those that give off that subtext in conversation).

I think med school by itself WILL attract more women, just not the women you wanna settle with. I always find it funny when guys brag about the amount of money they have/will have left and right, end up with a string of golddiggers as the result, and then whine how all women are hos or whatever. Well, maybe if you didn't market yourself as Mr. Moneybags, you wouldn't attract those types, otherwise, what the hell do you expect?

If girls find out I'm in medicine, I get less success, than if they do not know that I'm in medicine.

Jochi - while some girls may trust guys in medicine more (and on average it might be justified), their innate attraction I don't think goes up that much. How many of your girlfriends innately like men for being in medicine, and actually do what they say? Probably not many.

I honestly don't think that many girls are golddiggers - and even those raised to be golddiggers, can be seduced by penniless men who have game. Plus, with med schools being MAJORITY female, alot of girls I know are no longer attracted to medical students because it is no longer seen as a masculine profession. Women like masculine men, that do masculine things. With medicine really feminized these days, the allure of the profession has significantly diminished.
