nezura
Hi there I was wondering if anyone else applied to the MPH program at UofT and if you've heard anything back yet? Thanks
roxxy
I haven't heard anything yet. I called them two weeks ago, and they send decisions will be out by late-April/early-May.
JOy
Does this mean they will wait until final marks are in? I am a 4th year undergrad expecting to graduate this June...
roxxy
No, I don't think so. I think we will know by early May. On Gradcafe, someone posted that they got accepted on April 12th.

JOy
Do you get an email or is it through the mail that you get accepted/rejected?
Northern Researcher
I got an email this morning, and they said they are sending stuff in the mail over the next 10 days. Have not checked if my application is still "under review" on the online thing. Ill check. Edit: it still says under review.
roxxy
Is it fair to assume that those of us who didn't get that email didn't get accepted? I don't think the school would email out rejections, just letters of rejections.
razmatazz999
Rejected, sent out by letter online status still says "under review"

Northern Researcher
4.0 in the past 2 years (I think you only look at your past 2 years). Around 2 years of solid research with 5-6 conferences (1st or 2nd author on most of them) - research was in both neuroscience/psychology and epidemiology. I really learned a lot about their program and tailored my letter to them (I think this really helped me out).
ramsey
So are my chances of getting into the U of T's Masters of Public Health slim if I have a 3.0GPA? =(
mph2011
Wow! Those are really amazing accomplishments! I applied this year and I am pretty sure I wont get in. I have a 3.3 in my last two years, and around 3 years of research experience in part time positions and leadership involvements. Should I be hopeful? 4.0 in the past 2 years (I think you only look at your past 2 years).Around 2 years of solid research with 5-6 conferences (1st or 2nd author on most of them) - research was in both neuroscience/psychology and epidemiology. mph2011
yes I really hope so, that will do something. But I am sure there are very qualified candidates. I did get accepted to the MPH program at Waterloo...however it is offered online, so I am not quite sure about that.... Waterloo looks promising, from reading http://forum.thegradcafe.com/topic/14243-mph-programs-in-canada/. It seems like a well established school with a good database for finding practicums. healthscigrad8
Toronto finally got back to me--I was accepted but unsure if they'll be offering funding...hopefully the official letter will bring some clarity to the $ sitch
healthscigrad8
I was never told I was on a waitlist. That's weird they don't offer funding of some sort. A different school (SFU) offered me substantial funding for the first year of the MPH.
