benge88
Sorry... I have very little hope of getting in for this cycle in Canada - and since I would need to take a few prereq's to apply to the states I figured I would ask... cGPA: 3.76 sGPA: 3.69 MCAT: P/V/B/W: 9/11/12/S I have ~2 years hospital volunteering, ~50hrs shadowing, 4 years nursing home volunteer work, long term high level soccer player / ref, long term musician Also, I would be applying following hopefully obtaining my masters.. I need to take english (x2), physics and inorganic chem in order to have all the prereq's Feedback? Thanks so much!!
The Law
uhhh you have a solid chance at schools in Ontario with those stats, out of province too...

The Law
His GPA is too low for Ontario...OOP would be even harder imo. WIth his current stats, s/he'd interview at Queen's and UWO this cycle. With his or her 11 in VR, s/he'd have an amazing chance at Mac. And with GPA weighting, possibly UT/Ottawa.

And with GPA weighting, possibly UT/Ottawa. I agree overall. Nevertheless, I guess the OP is looking at increasing his/her odds, nothing wrong with that (if you have the money). Btw, isn't 'inorganic chem' just 'general chem'? I know the MSAR lists it as 'inorganic chem' (usually with lab), but I never took any upper level inorganic chem courses, and applied just fine to the US. benge88
Hi guys, Thanks! a bit more back story... I interviewed at both Queen's and Western this cycle, and was waitlisted at both. there is a small chance of still getting off the waitlist, but not a good one. my OMSAS gpa is actually lower (3.72) and I would not make Western's cut off should they raise it back to 3.75. If I don't get in this cycle, my plan is to do my masters and reapply broadly, including american schools, and was looking for some advice as to which schools I might have the best shot. (I'm a girl) Thanks again!

PS there's a book called MSAR that has all the US schools, average mcat scores/gpa, and info about each school... you should def check it out if you're thinking trying the US route. You have great stats so you don't hesitate in adding 'reach' schools.
