aye25
Could some current Queens med students please comment on the structure of the clerkship for entering 2010 students, i.e. will it be 2 full years, are electives all at the end (after core rotations) or are they intermingled with core rotations, etc.? Thank you.
IMDoc
Hey you can check out the structure here: http://meds.queensu.ca/assets/ugme_curriculum_map.pdf It looks like its a year and a bit, with the electives intermingled. I'm entering in 2010, so if any current students want to comment that would be great. Hope it helped!
drhm
I've heard it will be divided into 2 years pre-clerkship and 2 years clerkship for the class of 2014. But I'm not sure that's been confirmed..I'm also entering in 2010 Current students? Something to add?
tiramisu0
I have the same question. I also heard the rumour that the structure will be changed into 2-year clerkship, but never learned when it will happen. Does anyone else know?
Microbiodude
It's a good question and I wish I had a straightforward answer for you but I don't. The curriculum has been undergoing a lot of change to optimize our learning throughout our undergraduate medical training. I've also heard the rumour of the 2 year clerkship but at this point I don't think anything is finalized and it may just be one of the options that the higher ups are sorting through. Either way, Queen's graduates have a kept up a trend of matching very well in CaRMs so I wouldn't be overly concerned. Congratulations on your accomplishment and I'll see you in the fall. Cheers!
