evan88
Hey all, Sorry if this is a newbie question but I cannot seem to figure out what role the MCAT plays in admissions at UBC. They say on the website they have minimum cut offs and the stats seem to indicate between a 10 and 11 average. But it does not seem to say exactly how the MCAT is factored in. Is it a so called "soft cut off", or is it used in a formula? If someone could clear this up that would be great (or if I'm a moron and there is a painfully obvious link, you could point that out too:) )
Kingdarm
Since they added a minimum MCAT score for the first time this year I'm not too sure but previously, MCAT was only used as a flag. You basically get flagged only if you do really bad (5 or 6 bad).
cheeseshredder
Yes they have hard cut off now, but everything else will be speculation. UBC is notoriously bad at revealing how they weigh or assess things compared to other schools.
