American Med schools

Hey guys, I just completed my first year of undergrad. My gpa was 3.96 and I did some extracurricular activities like volunteering in a hospital, joined some clubs. I (hopefully) plan to continue where I left off last year.

 

What more should I be doing to have a chance at getting into an American med school (if I dont get in in Canada)? Do most of them require you to take English?

 

Should I do more extracurricular activities?

 

I feel like Im wasting my summer. Can someone give me ideas to make good use of it?

EC's also include employment...

 

And yes, most US medschools require you to take an english course!

Try research for summer such as NSERC you have good grades for it

thanks a lot for your replies. I will definitely try to look into research for next year. I have a summer job but I need to be more involved with premed stuff.

 

Some of the stories on this forum are amazing. Very inspirational.
