Turnaround time for TRF

Hi everyone, I have been conditionally accepted into UWO and have just sent the TRF form to OMSAS (by Canada Post tracking it arrived today). I was wondering if anyone knows how long it will take for the TRF to be processed by OMSAS and the transcript to be sent to UWO. I have met the two-year GPA cutoff requirement but nevertheless am still worried until I get the final word from UWO that I'm good.

Thank you!

you should be fine! It normally takes 7-10 days or so to be safe :)

Hello,

I'm in a similar situation, as I'm a bit concerned about UWO receiving my transcript on time. My convocation is on June 17th, and I believe I'm supposed to check the option send the transcript after the degree is conferred.

Even if I'm going to send the TRF via Express post on Monday, isn't this cutting it a bit close if it'll take ~7-10 days from June 17?

Thanks.

You should be fine, I remember being worried last year cuz I sent it in super late, but I think it actually only took like 2 days or something once OMSAS received it. Personally I wouldn't even worry about the express post thing. If for some strange reason it's getting close to the deadline and it hasn't gone through yet, if you write Western and let them know you sent it in a while back and that it might be a few days late it won't be a problem...they are not looking for reasons to kick anybody out after all!

You will still by fine as others have said. If you are worried just drop a line to the office to let them know - now that you are on the other side of things you will find they are even more amazingly helpful :)

UWO sent me an e-mail when they received my deposit. I haven't received anything about my transcript, even though I sent it in over two weeks ago. Even my OMSAS page doesn't list it as being received. I think I'll give OMSAS a call tomorrow.

IMO: If OMSAS has received your transcript, you should have nothing to worry about. Its their responsibility now.

You get a letter from OMSAS sorry not UWO

Yeah the school won't contact you unless there is an issue of some kind. There is still a bit of that premed tension floating around about the TRF (is every year) but remember you are on the other side now - the admins are not out to "get you" at this point :)

Guest postman

Thanks for the reassurance. I just checked my credit card statement and I was billed $10 by OMSAS over a week ago. I guess I won't be hearing from UWO unless there's an issue. I still sent them an email yesterday though I'll update when I get a response from them confirming my conditional year and my conferred degree.

on a similar note: did you guys hear back when the office said they have received your deposit?

I sent mine almost 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything back yet...

and you won't :) They don't email if things are going correctly as a rule, only if there is some minor issue that crops up.

I had the same problem you all are having - learning to relax a bit. Takes a bit to ramp down from premed mode :)

So, not to freak anyone out or go against Rmorelan's experience, but I actually did hear back that they got my deposit. I physically handed mine to them as I'm at UWO right now, and about a week later I got this email:

Good Afternoon,

This is to notify you that we have received your tuition deposit, confirming your place in the Meds Class of 2014. Thank you and once again, welcome to Schulich Medicine.

I stand correct :) Maybe they are changing something I didn't know about - I will check about that.

Still wouldn't worry though :)
