American med schools: Do any consider best 2 years?

Hey everybody!

 

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of american medschools who calculate GPA only using the applicant's best two years, or deletes the lowest year GPA after a certain number of years of undergrad.

 

In other words... is there any medschool down there that doesn't calculate GPA using all 4 years?

 

Also, how do they view grad school applicants down there?

Skim down the home page of the main forum - there's a specific forum for applying to American schools. The people who check that out or are active on that forum would probably be more helpful. Also maybe try a search of that forum.

Yea, I've recently made a thread asking that question in the american school forum and the answer I got was "no"!

Yeah US med schools are great for people with cGPA's in the 3.5 area because they're standards aren't as high, but if you screwed up a year or two you might not be able to recover.

3) NO. ALL post-secondary grades are considered by ALL american medical schools (including summer courses)
