hailey_medschool
at most schools they say that they want the majority of your courses to correspond to your current year of study, does this apply to 4th year? -is it alright if i take a mix of 3rd and 4th year courses? kinemed
It applies to all years, but you don't have to take ALL 4th year courses in 4th year - just the majority.

But seriously, use the search function on this site instead of making a new thread for every single one of your questions.
neuropsy
I think I recall reading somewhere that as a general rule, 60% of your course load should be filled up with courses that correspond to your year. So say, you take 6 or 7 fourth year courses in year four, you should be able to take 3-4 third year courses.

This is because med schools realize that at some universities, it is simply impossible for a student to take 60% 4th-year-level courses (based on prereqs, course offerings, etc). Therefore, in 4th year, you need to take 60% 3rd&4th year courses combined (i.e. 60% "senior level" courses).
