mtorcc
Hello everyone, I am new here and I was hoping you could help me. I am hoping to apply to med school next year, and was wondering where in Vancouver/Burnaby would you guys recommend taking some prereqs. I am ideally looking for something in the evenings cause I will be working full-time. I probably just need to take GChem I for the Fall term. Thanks for your help! notmeadoc
I don't get it? You're taking General Chem this fall and want to apply next year??? What's your background? Take your pre-req's at SFU, or Douglas, Kwantlen etc.....
notmeadoc
I'm a mom and frequently look to find evening courses - unfortunately.....Chem(especially lab) is usually a daytime course - Tues/Thurs.....
kylamonkey
You could try correspondance. It is really a last resort for some, but it will work. Ask UBC admissions if they will accept anything from Athabasca or Thompson Rivers Open Learning.
AndreaM
You can use the BC transfer guide (http://www.bctransferguide.ca) to find courses that are equivalent to UBC's required courses. I believe that TRU-OL does have a transferable equivalent, but the lab portion must be done in person in a one or two week condensed format. mtorcc
Thanks for all the suggestions! @ AndreaM: I did what you suggested and it was really useful. It specially helped me to find the names of all the colleges that offered a course equivalent to UBC's CHEM 121 (i.e. something like a "General Chemistry I"). Among those, I think Vancouver Community College and Colombia College are good options; thanks!
