Guest viscous
So the Clinical Placement Nurse got back to me. She said that I am missing Police Record Check but I sent it along with my Immunization documents! I hope she looks into that. I dont have record of getting Hep B vaccine as its somewhere lost back home. My doc did serology and I was + for Hep B surface antibody which means I have immunity to Hep B. Now the nurse is saying that since I dont have proof of primary series, I need to get Hep B surface antigen test... I also dont have proof for Dipth/Tetanus and Polio primary series but my doc gave me booster for them ... isnt that enough for proof? Pardon my ignorance in regards to this one but she is saying that I have to provide primary series proof for these too. Same with MMR even though I was positive for Measles and Rubella in serology, indeterminate for Mumps. She wants me to give primary series proof for that as well or to get re-vaccinated and give that as a proof. Any suggestions?
Dr. Bean
Depending on where you are from, you should be able to track down your primary series records from your local public health unit. I have lived in a few provinces and managed to track down all my results hence didn't need any boosters! Hep B - probably easiest to get the serology done (or again, track down your records) If indeterminate immunity for mumps, you probably need a booster. For TdaP-IPV, it depends what you had your booster of, most boosters are of Td only or at the most, TdaP (Adacel), so you would likely not have received a booster for Polio. I hope this makes sense. If you have any more questions, I am a public health nurse and may be able to help. Cheers
