metukah
How are you guys listing publications in the research section of the sketch? There is not enough room to type out the name of the article or journal, and just wrintg "publication" doesn't really give a good description. Thanks
medicant
I find it hard to believe that you do not have enough room to include a full citation of your article with major authors, journal, year, volume and page number (I can see titles not fitting, but then in science at least it's not the norm to include titles). (I am aware that in other fields titles should be included - english and history come to mind, I believe?)
metukah
thanks, so are you saying you think it is less important to put the title of your research? better to just put names and journal name in the description area?
medicant
i think that if you want to provide more details about your day-to-day research (if you consider this an important activity, which it likely is) then use a separate input slot to describe. For the publication slot, only include the citation if you have no other room, along with whether it was submitted, accepted, awaiting publication etc. Give a journal-specific reference number if it was submitted but not yet published. They can easily look up your paper if they are interested, but I think for many a paper is simply indicative of a certain level of achievement reached (unless it is in a related field to them or in a high profile journal they recognize, e.g. cell, nature).
