Becoming a Mod

Recommended Posts

Yes, it is quite simple. Be a med student. And Ian needs to appoint you. I would assume that you need to be an experienced member of this forum and not have any history of controversy and to have shown yourdself to be explempary in terms of courtesy to others, fairness, not attacking anybody ever, not having the slightest history of being argumentative with other members. :)

rmorelan is the poster child or role model of what a moderator should be. I would assume, he is to be chosen next and that as he knows all the members here by their posts, if not personally, he would then be able to recommend others to this position for consideration.

seeking1, are you 1 seeking to be a mod? :P

That would be cool, lol. If anyone is willing to level me up, I'm game. :) That being said, I'm happy where I am, so I could wait a few years before taking on that role. I just want to know for the future.

I'm also trying to get my 'Music' thread stickied. It keeps bouncing back and forth between a few pages in and the front. Everyone should contribute music for everyone else here, its free and its a wonderful way to communicate. :)

I would imagine that the recommendations of the existing mods would come into play and that they already know of those members who have an umblemished record of service to this community, free from the slightest hint of controversy. It is like being placed on the Dean's List, you earn it from your track record that speaks for itself.

We really shouldn't need moderators. Honestly, it's disappointing anyone even cares. I dunno how long I've been visiting this website, but it's been a little while now, and it's only recently, with the inclusion of certain people that there have been postings made which are of no value and are solely to attack other members. As adults we ought to be able to reign our **** in on our own without any babysitter oversight.

Have you ever seen parliament in session? The people running our country behave like jackasses to one anothers' face

Without some accountability, people, even future doctors, are idiots.

As reasonable adults, we should. But an angsty 16 year old can make 4 accounts in 5 minutes, and even as adults we're anonymous and not held accountable here.

That being said I don't think we need mods to ban people. I think it'd be nice to get rid of the spam.

I don't think anyone needs to be banned, but inflammatory posts could use deletion if all they're there for is offending people or being a idiot otherwise.

Politics is pretty serious and I can't blame them for getting excited about it.

f_d, there is a fine line between defending yourself and insulting others unnecessarily.

I was simply giving precisely what was thrown at me unnecessarily. He threw the ball(insult) to me - and all I did was send it back. This is fair play. I was not going to hold the ball unnecessarily.

So dee, why not ask the aggressor to stop the unneccesary insults.

I believe in telling the trooth.
