chibichibi
I want to get rid of them but of course I'm poor and will be poor until I finish school. So I was wondering, is it possible to have them removed for less money? Like is it even possible to volunteer to become a practice model/guinea pig so that people can practice on me??? I don't really care who does the extraction unless of course they kill me
Lactic Folly
Contact your local dental school to find out about student run clinics.
Jessie
I hear extracting wisdom teeth is kinda a big deal. My sister was going to get hers out but the oral surgeon said one of them was really close to a nerve and there was a risk of nerve damage. The risk was 10% according to the oral surgeon, but it was still there. She was too afraid to get them removed, so she didn't. I think you shouldn't trust just anyone to remove them. Once you start school, you'll be insured through your school and the cost to remove them will be a lot less. Go to someone who is experienced and knowledgeable. Most people think a wisdom tooth extraction is no biggy, but I think it's scary if there is a risk for nerve damage.
boo
If you go to a dental school to get them removed, they will only allow the students to do the extraction if it's easy enough. The tough cases are referred to residents of an OMFS program or simply to a praticing dentist or specialist with enough expertise.
