postsecondary education part of OMSAS app

Recommended Posts

Am I supposed to put April 2011 as my graduation date, if I am applying from my 3rd year? Like I could graduate this year if I get accepted, but if not, then i can stay for the 4th year. So should I put 2011? I think it says that if you are currently enrolled you should, but I just want to make sure. thanks

I am in the 4 year program and entering my third year in September. My graduation date is Apr/ 2012 but I am applying now to get in after the third year. If I get in after the third year, I won't graduate, but there is not an option after Apr/2011, so I put that as graduation date.Is that wrong?

Regarding formal education, it`s including your high school education as well correct? I ask this because when I called OMSAS to confirm, the lady told me that I should just put my post secondary education but the instructions in the OMSAS booklet indicates listing all formal education, employment etc from age 16 onwards which would technically include my high school education. Any ideas as to the discrepancy?

Hi lilil, I asked them the same question. The lady on the phone told me to just leave the Conferred Date and Expected Date blank. Hope that helps.

It really doesn't matter if you put your high school diploma or not. If you have space, go for it, if you don't, meh.

+1

They won't disqualify your application because you didn't list your HS. It is pretty much assumed that 99.999% of applicants have their diploma from HS already

The lady on the phone told me to put in 2012 as my graduation date since my transcript says I'm in a 4 year program, and you shouldn't have any discrepancies, but then, as lilil pointed out, I realized you couldn't put in a date after 2011. So I'm just leaving it blank.

Also, is this correct for the year details:

2009 - Full time

2009 - Supplementary (took one summer course)

2010 - Full time

I think this is how we're supposed to do it, yes? Sorry if its a dumb question, it seemed wrong to me when i was filling it in lol

Seems correct. If you were in school from 2008-2009, you would put 2009. If you did summer school in 2009, then put 2009-supplementary like you did and so on.:)
