DAT in February, some prep advice please.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I've been lurking these forums for a while and I have to say thanks for all the info and help you guys provide here!

I'm looking to write my DAT this February (2011) and just have a few questions concerning preparation. I've read a lot about what people use to prepare and have noticed that there is quite a large amount of prep material available for the DAT. However, most of the student's I've heard of are those writing the US DAT, and so I was hoping to get some advice from those who wrote the Canadian one, since that is what I will be doing come February.

I was wondering about the effectiveness of materials such as DAT Destroyer, Crack DAT PAT, and TopScore. Also, I've read over and over that Kaplan's blue book does not cover the biology section properly, and that reading comprehension is better off studied from the IQ Publications books. Basically, there are many differing opinions about DAT studying, and as you can see, I'm just feeling a little lost as to the prep materials I should be using soon (for the Canadian DAT), and I can't really satisfy myself by simply buying everything out there - that would take ages to finish! So, and I'm sorry if this has already been asked before, but I would greatly appreciate it if somebody who has already completed the DAT to give me some advice on the most effective and holistic prep materials available for each section of the DAT. I'm also hoping other predents can benefit from this since I'm sure a lot of us are reading all kinds of forums and reviews, and fretting about what to buy for what sections.

Thanks in advance,

Faze
