Questiona about 4th (last year) of undergrad

Recommended Posts

This is what I received in response to the same question:

As long as the GPA of the current year is above 3.3 and all prerequisites being taken in the current year receive a passing grade, it will have no effect on your admission to the University of Alberta medical school.

So relax, lol.

Sweet

So if I get in and my 4th year GPA is 3.3 , I should be fine then?

Not saying that I would get cGPA = 3.3 this year, but I think this year's GPA is not going to be up to par with the admissions standards at U of A.

Also, for those who are interested, when I talked to the admissions lady at U of A, she told me that it doesn't matter whether/not you graduate. So basically, you can take 10 GPA boosters in your year, get 4.0, and use that for your calculation, as long as your GPA is high enough.

Is it different for 3rd year OOPs? Or still 3.7?

This is all it says on the website:

Acceptances are provisional; one of the conditions is that the official transcript for courses just completed shows maintenance of an overall average of 3.3/4.0 for 4-Yr Alberta, 3.5/4.0 for Non-Alberta and 3.7/4.0 for the 2/3-Year pool converted to match the University of Alberta 4.0 scale.

I'm guessing the 3.7 rather than the 3.5 applies for 3rd year OOPs.
