Hey, I was reading up on the Edmonton Clinic. It sounds like a really great idea but I was wondering if med students are going to be able to get a lot of experience there. Like is it mostly accessible for residents and clerks, or will first and second years get to do some of their training there as well? Thanks!

Still under constriction but it is intended go be a teaching center for medical and dental students

yes, the plan is to have it opened by this september. there will be more than med and dental students. there will be nursing students, nutrition, food sciences and i believe pharmacy students as well.

I believe it is behind schedule and will not open for med students until spring at the earliest. Most likely will be in use September 2012.

North Clinic (research labs, lecture halls, student space) should be open by September 2011, but word is that most of the Med lectures will still be in Katz since it has bigger/better lecture theatres.

South Clinic (actual clinic space) will hopefully be open some time in late 2012.

All the lectures relevant for med students will be held in Katz. The dental students take additional classes, and those will presumably move right away to the Edm clinic.
