- none at the moment, having a hard enough time catching up on all those years of "landmark" papers I should know haha.

Ya ya, seconding xkcd and PHD and A Cartoon Guide to Becoming a Doctor. I also read Penny Arcade (although it has been kinda weak recently), which is about video games. I check the photoblogs The Big Picture and Daily Dose of Imagery as well.

Also seconding Medaholic's p.i.m.p. blog. I think everyone on here is a little addicted to the medahol. Thanks for posting on my blog medaholic! I kinda feel like I was visited by a dignitary knowing you were on my blog...

Awesome thread! Loving this interest in the blogging community.

Some of the ones I read have been mentioned already, but most notably:

1. Medaholic

2. Medhopeful

3. Dr. Ottematic - a resident in family med who updates pretty regularly. http://drottematic.wordpress.com/

4. Ah Yes, Med School. He stopped updating a while ago but the stuff is so golden. http://ahyesmedschool.blogspot.com/

5. And a shameless plug for my (primitive) new blog! See signature :P

Journal of Neuroscience

American Paediatrics

The Journal produced by RASC (astrophysics)

An eclectic mix... although you will make a great spacechildbrain doctor.

So your first and third journals are legit (I checked), but I have never heard of American Paediatrics... Is that a joke? It is the British spelling of pediatrics (with the ae) but the 'American' journal?! The two big peds journals are 'Pediatrics' and 'Journal of Pediatrics'. Confusion.

Aren't you anal. I spell paediatrics the way I like. I didn't take the time to look up the correct spelling of the journal and your going to chastise me and claim it's illegit? Cripes man, get a life. It's an american paediatric journal.

Why you even checked to ensure the journals are legit confuses me.

Ah you folks missed that I was not serious (but I was confused)!

Hopefully its not so anal when you see my thought process: I know JPeds and Peds so I was confused when I saw American Pediatrics was a journal. In peds research it makes a big difference if you are referring to JPeds or Peds. When I saw that there may be a general peds journal I may have been missing all these years I looked for it. I would probably keep an eye on another big peds journal especially if I had been missing it. But American Paediatrics doesn't exist. So then I checked on the other two journals thinking the post was a joke I didn't really get... But the other two journals were legit... And are very very disparate. So I posted wondering what was up...

You spell paediatrics any way you want! I could hardly care.

You caught me in a particularly pissy mood and am sorry for being so cranky over your questioning. I receive Pediatrics to my inbox along with the Journal of Neuroscience (SFN)...and I'm a member of the RASC. The mix comes from a) When I decided I wanted to go into medicine, I had just had my first baby and was interested in paediatrics as a starting point for researching the process; B) I was an astrophysics major...nuff said; c) am a neuroscience major...lol...nuff said.
