Computer and printing facilities at academies?

Current U of T students: regarding access to computers and printers at the academies (specifically Peters-Boyd), do we have access to printers? Is it free? If not, is it cost prohibitive to use on a regular basis?

 

I am asking because I currently have an ancient printer that needs to be replaced. Should I be investing in a decent printer or will I have access through the academies? In undergrad, most profs often gave us handouts of notes along with the electronic versions, is it the same in medschool? Or will there be lots of things to print out on our own?

 

On a related topic, do most medstudents bring laptops to lectures/seminars? I found that in undergrad, laptops only slowed down my note-taking.

We have our notes printed weekly for us. So there is very minimal, if any printing needed.

 

and there is some printing available @ PB if necessary.

you can buy a laser printer for < $100 if you find you really need one.

 

To answer your question, yes, we have printing credits, but it's inconvenient if you're going to be printing stuff all the time.
