Microbiology and Immunology Thesis vs Medical Sciences Lab

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm trying to decide on a module for 4th year and it basically comes down to whether I want to write a thesis or take a general laboratory course.

Microbiology and Immunology 4970E:

I've heard good things and many more bad things about writing your thesis in 4th year. A lot of work, long hours (Some say up to 25-30 hours a week), exceptionally hard marking, and generally not too useful to getting into medical school. However, I've also heard it's a great experience, but really depends on which professor you get.

Medical Sciences 4900 and 4930:

Only have a general basic idea about the course, but appears to be much simpler, less work, and graded much easier than a thesis course. Set class hours supposedly allows one not to be swamped by too much work.

Any feedback on either of these courses would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
