Hcp Cpr?

Recommended Posts

I've heard HCP CPR is required for clerkship. Did anybody get it now, or did you just get CPR C?

I called and asked Corrine a couple of weeks ago and she said CPR C was all that was necessary but that HCP was acceptable too. I opted for HCP CPR because it was the same price and I knew some people going to it as well.

Thanks for the info, who did you book it through?

Hey Guys,

I'm an instructor with St. John Ambulance and I thought I would just clear up some stuff as the whole CPR certification is changing as of August 1st.

Right now there are levels A and C, and then HCP (Health Care Provider)

Currently with level C you learn infant, child, and adult CPR, as well as 2-rescuer CPR. As of August 1st only infant and adult CPR will be taught in CPR C classes.

HCP CPR will be covering the infant and 2-rescuer, as well as NPAs, OPA, and BVMs.

So I would confirm with the med schools what exactly they are looking for. I think the point of changing this was so that HCP would be the new standard for med/nursing students. If you get it before August 1st though you are golden. Hopefully this isn't too confusing! :)
