About undergrad pre-requisites

Recommended Posts

For prereqs, I saw that Queen's requires "Full-year course in each of Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Humanities/Social Sciences." If I'm currently an engineering student (electrical) right now, what kinds of courses would I need to take to fulfill those prereqs? I go to UBC so I was required to take first year English and Chemistry, but don't know if those count. I also received bad grades in those, and I only want to have my last 2 years evaluated, so don't know how the calculations will work.

They won't be if they are not included in your last two years - so they don't automatically add your prereqs to the GPA calc they use.

Sounds like both of those courses count - I took engineering and there was some mandatory physics in there - how about you?

Yes, I took physics as well. So I guess that counts for the "physical sciences" part?

But say, full year in biological sciences means I would have to go out of my current curriculum and take two biology courses (one per semester), correct? I wonder if there's a more detailed explanation of this on the admissions site or elsewhere?

I wanted to double-check about these as well. As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter what year you take these courses in - is this correct? I'm also in engineering so my physical sciences credit would be 1st year physics course I was required to take, and social sciences credit would be the psych course I took in first year.
