kickserve
I am fairly sure that UWO is the only Ontario med school that accepts transfers On the UWO website there was a bio (I think it was from a couple of years back)about some guy who transferred from ottawa med to uwo med. For info about transferring http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/admissions/medicine/index.php?page=transfers
dy727
Thanks! I'm aware of that uwo is one of the few schools accepting transfers but I was wondering if there's someone who actually managed to transfer successfully. The concern I have is how the differences in curriculums are dealed by uwo for transfer students :s Anyone know of or have transferred into uwo? :s Thanks for all the help! zxcv
Firstly a transfer is dependent if on a spot. i.e. someone dropped out, deferred... Secondly, transfer is generally for American-Canadian med students (I know thats what the website says, but a person told me to the contrary and what the person told me made sense, but I might be wrong). This is because by opening doors to Canadians it will create a ripple effect in the Canadian medical schools. However, they have in the past accepted Canadian students. Thirdly, a transfer is dependent on the compatiability of the curriculums...if there are slight difference, then the student is assigned that for summer readings, courses. If the differences are astrnominal, then they won't accept the student. PS. Best thing would be to contact adminstration. A friend of mine was interested in a transffer, and he contacted them. They were very helpful in answering the questions.
