MD2019_A
Is it considered a rural area?
zxcv
Find out from UofAs/UofCs website what the definition of rural is. Google the town and see if it fits the criteria. Quick Answer: I don't think FM is rural.
MD2019_A
yeap it's not. the population in 2006 was 47000 and you need to be under 50000 to be considered rural. thanks!
2Blonde4Med
I would send an email to the admissions office. I am from Grande Prairie, also northern Alberta, and UofA admissions office sent me a quick reply confirming that GP is considered rural. It has a population of 46,000. On a side note...does anyone have some insite into how the rural category works? Do they fill the regular admissisions category seats and then use the top ten ranking rural applicants that didnt gain regular admission to fill the 10 extra seats?
