vanillalatte
Hello! Any one else a recipient of a Millennium award during their undergrad? With the foundation being closed now I am unsure who to list as the verifier when I list this in my NAQ. Any suggestions?
technicity
I was just thinking about this too! I asked my university but they said they can't vouch for it. Maybe Canada Student Loans? I don't think M-Network would be able to.
zxcv
Is this the Millenium scholarship or the bursary. If the former, then its not worth mentionign since it is based on financial assistance. PS. I was one of the finalist for MS and I remember finding their number on the website and contacting them. they were helpful...
technicity
You mean "if the latter," right? The scholarship (Excellence Award) is not needs based. The problem with contacting the CMSF is that there is no CMSF anymore. It's mandate ended a year or two ago, with the remaining disbursements of renewable awards being administrated by the Canada Student Loans Program. zxcv
Yes, i meant the later. Are you looking for a verifier for the award? You can contact the registrar since the money was deposited to your university account. To be honest, the millenium award was from high school to university, and doesn't look that impressive. However, if you really want to add it, you can get a non-relative as a verifier.

Actually, I think it's pretty valuable... also (well, before the CMSF closed), the requirements for its renewal included continued community involvement, so continued renewal of it is sort of a (baseline) "verification". I gained a lot from the conferences held throughout university, and being involved in M-network has led to tonnes of interesting opportunities and experiences... I would suggest you include it for sure! (I really wish I'd been able to go to refresh.reboot.rewind last month!) Thanks for the tip on the registrar. I did get the Canada Student Loans Program to agree to verify, but I think the registrar or financial aid/awards office would be better.

A renewal (I think it is called national level) would look good. A provincial one time award entering from high school to unviersity is meh, when I see an application. However, if someone needs fillers then the award is fine. Also, Im biased since I know about the award, but not all evalutaors know about it, and hence may work in a candidates favour. Glad you got it verified.
technicity
...the Provincial awards are renewable ($16K + $2.5K project grant - National are renewable $20K+ same grant). The Local awards are one time though.
