Extracurricular for McGill med students... suggestions

So I am considering applying to McGill medicine next year, and I was wondering what kind of extracurricular activities admitted med students did during their undergraduate years.

 

1. Does McGill put a large emphasis on research like U of T?

2. As a general rule of thumb, what do you guys recommend for someone who has 1 year until the start of application next year?

I would suggest shadowing physicians.

Why do you think shadowing physicians is a useful experience, besides the fact that you will have an opportunity to better learn about what doctors do?

If you want a shadowing opportunity, look for the McGill undegrad club called MedSpecs, and make sure to sign up early in January when the round for second semester volunteering starts.

Breakdancing is fine, takes stamina, endurance, practice, expertise. Like ballet, it is dancing not a sport as such but it is definitely a positive activity with positive attributes.

I agree... any personal activity with years of experience can be used as long as it can exemplify positive qualities.
