murphy303
Is pre-req average used in granting interviews for IP/OOP applicants? I have mediocre MCAT, 4.0 GPA, 3.2 Pre-Req average. My MCAT science scores however, are good. Should I include them? Successful applicants tend to have a science prerequisite GPA (SciGPA) above 3.5 (average approximately 3.8), or an MCAT equal to or greater than 30 (average approximately 33). Applicants with a SciGPA below 3.2 or with an MCAT below 27 are rarely considered. It doesnt sound like I have a choice ... ?

But you may be able to retake the prereqs and use the new marks (I know students who did their cegep can retake their basic science at university). murphy303
Does anyone know if there is a formula that is used or something? What actually matters here? For instance, UBC uses the MCAT but it barely matters as long as you have a decent score. UBC calculates Pre-Req but doesn't use it for admissions. mike.swims
Hey guys how do you calculate DegGPA and SciGPA? makes no sense to me i thought sciGPA was GPA of pre-req and DegGPA was cumulative GPA of all courses (including pre-req) that you took during your undergrad. How can your GPA be 4.0 and sciGPA be like 3.2? very confused.
